Abstrakt

The paper presents results of warming up process of cable glands made of ferromagnetic and diamagnetic materials. The cable glands are used for fixing the electrical cables that conduct the DC current component with additional AC ripple current component that is caused by operation of power electronic converters. The analysis of influence of the AC ripple current component on warming up process is important for both constructors of electrical devices during selection of fixing elements (especially for devices equipped in power electronic converters) and for research institution during developing the procedure for testing this devices as well. Presented results show that it is necessary to take into account the specificity of supply conditions during warming up process. The additional analysis based on FEM method has been carried out that proves that AC ripple current components effects the eddy currents in cable glands.
