N2 - Noise generated by devices is a serious issue, as it may influence human health in negative ways and cause long-lasting damage. To reduce human exposure to noise, different approaches may be employed, including semi-active methods. A loud device may be enclosed within a cubic casing, whose walls may be built of single or double panels. In this research, a rigid device casing with double-panel walls is employed, and a semi-active modification of the front wall is provided. Double-panel structures are employed in the field of noise control due to good sound insulation they provide. In this paper authors propose a modification of a double-panel structure, which consists of several couplings between the plates with usage of electromagnetic elements, whose stiffness is changeable. Vibroacoustical properties of such structure are examined and analyzed, according to change of couplings' stiffness.
