Abstrakt

The article presents results of physical and numerical modelling of steel fl ow through a tundish of continuous casting machine. In numerical calculations the infl uence of mesh density was tested and the correctness of the fl ow description in the near-wall region was checked using Standard Wall Function model. Obtained results were verifi ed using experimental results of velocity fi eld (PIV method) coming from a water tundish model.
