title = "Utilization of the cryogenic exergy of LNG for the production of electricity",
abstract = "Liquid natural gas (LNG) delivered by means of the sea-ships is compressed and then evaporated before its introduction to the system of pipelines. The possibilities of the utilization of LNG for electricity production without any additional combustion of some part of natural gas have been analyzed. The cascade system of the plant with two working fluids (ethane in the interval of higher temperature and ethene in the lower interval) has been investigated. In order to decrease the heat transfer exergy losses, extraction turbine of ethane was considered. The extraction vapour is used for heating the condensed working fluid and preliminary superheating of the evaporated natural gas. The intermediate and final pressure of ethane have been optimized thermodynamically.",
