Abstrakt

A DC/DC 42 V/14 V converter is a vital part of dual voltage electrical systems in cars. The first part of the article presents requirements for such a converter and the authors' work on the design of a parallel converter. The second part includes an overview of literature tackling problems that relate to such converters. In particular interleaved and inductorless converters are presented as well as ways of optimizing the converters from the point of view of their efficiency and volume are discussed.
