Abstrakt

Induction surface hardening is a kind of heat treatment in which a selected part of the hardened element is heated inductively, shortly kept for the austenitization and finally quenched. Mathematical modeling of the process requires analysis of coupled electromagnetic, thermal, and metallurgical fields. As the example the continual induction surface hardening of bending brake is analyzed. Quite good accordance between computations and measurements is obtained.
