Abstrakt
This paper presents selected aspects of power losses generated in a 3.3 kV three-level neutral-point clamped converter. These aspects are particularly important in some applications characterized with a limited room, for instance underground mining. The limited size of the converter can only be performed when all thermal aspects like converter generation of power losses or junction temperature distribution in all converter semiconductor devices are recognized.
