The problem of a control close to the optimal case over a fixed but sufficiently large control period is discussed. The average value of a cost function is used as a performance index, which makes it possible to consider the problem of optimal control of the system functioning in the presence of disturbances. Attention is paid to an interesting property of control system, making it possible to determine and realize a control close to the optimal case under the assumption that disturbances are known in a fixed interval ahead of the current instant of time. It has been shown that linear-time invariant systems with quadratic performance indices have such a property. For such systems an algorithm for suboptimal control has been given.
