Abstrakt
The application of a continuous regime in mass crystallization of L-sorbose from water solutions with addition of methanol or/and ethanol is studied. The influences of methanol and/or ethanol concentrations, as well as mean residence time of suspension in a crystallizer working volume, on product crystal size distributions are examined. The kinetic parameter values in nucleation and growth rate equations are established. Secondary nucleation effects in circulated suspension are elucidated. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 18th International Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering (Prague, Czech Republic 8/24-28/2008).
