Abstrakt
The article presents the opportunities offered to students and staff of the Silesian University of Technology by a state-of-the-art Industrial Automation Laboratory tailored to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0. The laboratory was established through fruitful collaboration between the university and an industrial partner. It provides access to industry-standard workstations that enable comprehensive training across the full spectrum of modern automation from PLC programming and HMI/SCADA system design, through configuration of electric drives and process control, to the practical integration of industrial communication networks. By employing components that meet current industry standards, the laboratory effectively prepares future engineers to work in modern, intelligent factories, thereby addressing the digital transformation challenges with Industry 4.0.
