Abstrakt

The subject of the research was the detail of connection of steel pontoons which are the supporting platform of a floating building. The parameters of this asymmetrical end--plate joint with one bolt adopted at the design stage required confirmation by experimental tests and numerical analyses. The aim of the tests was to determine the ultimate load-bearing capacity of the connection, estimate its initial translational stiffness, determine the load level for planned fatigue tests and tests of a section of the platform.
