Estimation of the hard coal quality in a deposit in view of national and international standards

The methods of determining changes in the parameter values of coal quality in a deposit are described in consideration of Polish national and international standards, with the use of modern computer-aided tools (AutoCAD, Surfer). Options of combining the software for the estimation of coal quality in a deposit are discussed, also for designation zones of the occurrence of coal with required quality parameters. The usability (easiness and convenience) of using international standards in estimating coal quality is shown, especially in view of modern information technologies. The differences in the principles of hard coal quality estimation according to the ECE standards and the Polish Standard are indicated.
