title = "Electromagnetic processing by induction of liquid non-ferrous metals",
abstract = "The paper deals with a concise overview of advanced electromagnetic technological processes based on induction processing phenomena in liquid conductive environment. All described devices were elaborated at the Faculty of Material Sciences and Metallurgy of the Silesian University of Technology in Poland. A special emphasis was put on description of magnetohydrodynamic technologies investigated not only theoretically but also by experiment at especially built laboratory and/or industrial stands. Advanced numerical methods were used for coupled modeling of multi-physic phenomena. The modeling was extremely complicated because of necessity to take into consideration at least triply coupled physical fields: electromagnetic, temperature and flow. Selected magnetohydrodynamic technologies like: stationary and continual electromagnetic stirring of molten steel and transportation of non-ferrous metals were described. Final conclusions were formulated.",
