Abstrakt

This article aims to provide an overview of offshore wind energy development in Poland. The main advantages of offshore wind energy are zero emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases and the lack of waste produced during energy generation. It can therefore be considered a green energy source. Classed as a renewable energy source (RES), it can contribute to sustainable development goals. From the economic point of view, investment in offshore wind energy can be profitable. The potential for offshore wind energy in Poland is high. This article presents opportunities for offshore wind energy development in Poland, the legal framework to date, strategic plans and environmental, economic and social impacts. Given the continued growth in energy demand and the need to meet the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050, investment in offshore wind development is necessary. However, the challenges ahead are significant.
