abstract = "New method for controlling the bucket conveyor, which transports materials from pulsating water jigs is presented. Correlation between conveyor output and its load is the method essence. That results in reduction of electric energy consumption and can extend the conveyor life. The suggested solution of controlling the conveyor speed is based on information about the degree of opening the discharging slot of the jig as well as about speed and load of the conveyor. The analysis of the process of loading the product leaving the jig on the bucket conveyor is made to select those parameters, which have an impact on the conveyor load. On the basis of this analysis, the model of the process was suggested and its identification was carried out including laboratory test, preparation of measuring data, selection of the model structure and its approximation. The model was used in a prediction control system, which was implemented in PLC controller. The results of industrial verification tests are also presented.",
