Collocational method of determining the solidification front in the continuous casting volume

A certain numerical method of identification of solidification front in continuous casting volume is presented. The algorithm discussed in this paper belongs to a group of collocational methods and spline functions, as the approximation of temperature field in considered area have been used. The numerical model of analysed problem is reduced to the multiple solution of algebraic equations systems. In the final part of paper the examples of the results obtained are presented.
