Analysis and Development of Competencies of Faculty Innovation Brokers. Evaluation and Measurement Methods

The purpose of this chapter is to identify and analyze the key competencies of university innovation brokers and indicate the direction of their future development. By presenting the implementation of the competency model for employees who are involved in the knowledge- and technology-transfer process at the AGH Center for Technology Transfer (AGH CTT) at AGH University of Science and Technology, the chapter stresses the importance of an evidence-based and participatory approach for designing competency models. Another aim is to understand the meaning of knowledge transfer between universities and the economy in terms of the preparation of professional staff that will support the process of creation. This tries to solve one of the main cooperation barriers – the lack of a mutual understanding for the different ways of thinking and functioning.
