Abstract
Three quaternary ammonium salts were added to municipal wastewater purified in activated sludge plants to study their effect on biodegradn., nitrification and MeH prodn. during anaerobic digestion of the wastewater-contained org. matter. No substantial effect of the salts was obsd except for decreased MeH prodn. and nitrification rate.
