Abstract

Spent sulphuric acid from manufacturing titania was purified by concentrating and subsequent crystallization of iron sulfate monohydrate, separated then by filtration. The filtration efficiency and sulfuric acid concentration in the filtrate increased and the humidity of the filter cake and iron sulfate content in filtrate decreased with increasing crystal grain size. The resulted sulfuric acid can be used in manufacturing phosphoric acid.
