Abstract

Problems with zones forming and parameterization of distance protection for HV overhead line with widely varying capacity limit are discussed in the paper. The developed solutions Adaptive Line Distance Protection AKOL, using unconventional decision taking methods and adaptive adjustment of the parameters for the actual operating conditions of the line are also presented.
