User-centered design case study: Ribbon interface development for point of sale software

Abstract

The article is devoted to user-centered design (UCD) applied to the development process of the point of sale software. The influence of UCD methodology on the whole project's progress and its results is described alongside with exemplary user interface designs. In particular, there is a ribbon menu elaborated with the results of the user experience evaluation.
