Abstract
In the paper, a polygeneration nuclear energy cycle is proposed as a source of electricity and hydrogen for transport sector. The proposed polygeneration system is cooperating with a wind power plant, adjusting electric output power to the power grid demand. It is assumed that wind-nuclear power plant tandem can guarantee electricity generation in range of 40 – 100% of the nuclear station nominal power regardless of the wind power plant current generation. Under partial demand for electric power the facility is working in Power-to-gas mode. Production of hydrogen ensures constant nominal load of the nuclear reactor. The aim of the research is to establish the thermo-ecological cost of natural resources used in the proposed polygeneration cycle.
