Abstract
Creating traffic models requires a lot of time-consuming and costly research. In addition, the surveys require the presence of observers who conduct observation or surveying at selected locations. This makes the acquisition of traffic data time-consuming, and the data does not describe the phenomenon studied in a comprehensive manner. The assumption of the project was to create a system enabling the construction of multimodal traffic models in dedicated software using relevant BIG DATA datasets. This Project assumes a departure from traditional traffic measurements and traffic behaviour studies and their replacement with BIG DATA. The optimal source of data is GPS technology; this technology is used in practice for air and car navigation, as well as by many mobile applications, which installed in smartphones facilitate movement in space and allow optimisation of activities, for example, finding the shortest or fastest route to a specific destination.
