Abstract

Rescheduling, as a process of updating the production schedule is a very important element of the production planning and control. The occurrence of various events that outdate the existing schedule is a typical situation in real manufacturing systems. The correct reaction to them allows maintaining the continuity of production and the value of performance measures at a satisfactory level. The paper presents the general rescheduling procedure including activities taken from the occurrence of a disturbance stage up to the introduction of the revised schedule. The procedure includes: steps of registering and identification of the event parameters, decision making steps about the need and time for the schedule correction and steps of changing the scheduling model, selection of the rescheduling method, selection of a set of operations to re-planning and also stages of the creation, selection, and implementation of the new schedule.
