Abstract

The article describes the results of the tests on the influence of mortar on compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of the wall made of blocks of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC). The test was performed on the walls with 4 types of mortars and without mortar. There were 26 models examined in total pursuant to the guidelines of EN 1052–1 standard. Based on the analysis of test results it was stated that the type of mortar essentially influences on the wall compression strength and level of cracking stresses. The greatest compression strength was noted for dry walls (without mortar) and walls joined with the use of polyurethane glue. The resistance of walls with thin-layer joints and with non-filled perpend joints was greater than the resistance of similar walls with filled perpend joints. The resistance of walls with normal joints and with non-filled perpend joints was smaller than the resistance of similar walls with filled vertical joints.
