Abstract

The paper presents results of the influence of changing tire stiffness analysis on phase angle. Preliminary test was made on quarter car suspension model. The test was made also on real car where accelerations of chosen front suspension elements were measured with changing pressure in tire. Car vibrations were extorted on platform test stand. Accelerations on platform and on unsprung mass (near wheel center) were measured. Recorded accelerations on real car included noise. There were made many operations for minimize noise in accelerations: zero-phase filtering and interpolation to increase number of sample in place of sign changing and precision intensification to determine frequency of single oscillations. Relative phase angle and magnitude were determined as phase shift and quotient of input signal (acceleration of platform) and output signal (unsprung mass acceleration). The influence of tire stiffness changing on phase angle and magnitude in frequency domain was determined.
