abstract = "The article describes the results of tests on the impact of reinforcement on the appearance of cracks and on the way of damaging spandrel panel walls made of sand-lime blocks. 6 non-reinforced models and four series of three models with reinforcement each in the bed joints were subject to testing. 4 types of reinforcement were applied in the tests. Based on the conducted tests, it was stated that the cracking of the zone under the window in the non-reinforced walls made of silicate elements appeared on the level of ca. 40\% of the destruction stress. The application of all types of the reinforcement caused the increase of the stress that led to wall cracking. The best reinforcement was made of glass fibers (the average increase of the resistance to cracking was 60\%) and reinforcement of truss type (ca. 50\% increase in the resistance to cracking) while the worst was with steel mesh (ca. 25\% increase in the resistance to cracking) and reinforcement with the mesh made of carbon fibers (ca. 20\% increase in the resistance to cracking). The maximum increase of cracking stress in the reinforced walls was almost 70\% in comparison to non-reinforced models.",
