Abstract
This paper is a review of the literature focusing on the synthesis of grafted copolymers by applying a combination of two polymerization mechanisms. The copolymer grafting procedure was discussed on the base of macroinitiator and macromonomer methods. Selective multifunctional macroinitiators were described and the role of reactive glicydyl methacrylate (co)polymers as their precursors were discussed. The synthesis of macromonomers based on various polymers was also presented. The possibilities of the composition of various segments which can influence the variability and specificity of the properties of the obtained copolymers when arranged next to each other in a single macromolecule have been explored.
