Synchronization of Hydraulic Actuators Motion in an Energy-Efficient, Modular Hydraulic Device: Concept of Device and Construction of a Test Stand

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Conference contribution › peer-review

Abstract

The article presents research on a new energy-efficient and modular hydraulic device for construction works of large-scale structures and presents the problem of synchronization of multi cylinder system using servo electric motors. The research project is a part of the “Implementation Doctorate” program and is carried out in collaboration between the Silesian University of Technology and PONAR Wadowice. During the lifting of the structure, the hydraulic system must ensure constant oil flow rate despite dynamic pressure changes, maintaining the synchronized movement of the actuators. By controlling the electric servo motor speed, the speed of the hydraulic cylinders can be controlled. Compared with the traditional electro-hydraulic control system, this method is energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. The complexity of technological processes and the demand for precise and consistent executive movements present challenges for hydraulic system developers. To meet complex design and engineering requirements, a systematic approach to design has been introduced. The presented tools can significantly support the design related to hydraulic devices. A test stand was designed and built to meet the specific requirements of the research. Its construction ensures accurate measurement conditions and enables the evaluation of key parameters relevant to the study. Various test scenarios were developed to analyze the system’s performance under different conditions. The research methodology includes experimental measurements, data analysis, and validation of theoretical assumptions. The planned research is expected to provide valuable insights into the system’s efficiency and performance. The results will help optimize the design and improve the reliability of future implementations.
