Abstract

Experimental and theoretical studies of butanol biodegradation under transient (periodic) operation are reported. The concise two-phase model of the process has been proposed. The accurate portrayal of odour biodegradation in a broad range of operating variables was obtained. The biodegradation kinetics was expressed in terms of the modified Monod-type equation.
