Abstract
In the article, the research stand of the micro-cogeneration unit based on the free-piston Stirling engine is presented. The bench is located at the Institute of Power Engineering and Turbomachinery of Silesian University of Technology. This system consists of the Vitotwin μCHP module and thermal energy storage tank. The control-measuring system is described in detail. It provides the possibility of simulation of varied outdoor conditions, changing heat demand and creating the schedule of operating conditions. The measuring opportunities and the examples of operating characteristics are presented. The overall efficiency of the Vitotwin unit during seven-hour charging of the water heat storage tank was calculated and it equals 89,33%.
