Abstract
Wastewater from prodn. of mineral fertilizer was treated with aq. solns, of MgCl2 and NH4Cl in continuous liq. jetpump crystallizer to recover the wastewater-contained P (0.444% by mass) and to ppt. MgNH 4PO4·6H2O (struvite) at pH 9-11. The struvite crystals (9-29 μm in size) were sepd. by filtration. A flowsheet of industrial-scale plant for recovering struvite (wastewater processing capacity 20 m3/h) was proposed.
