Abstract
The paper presents the requirements set for special cements in the current standards. This type of cement, in addition to the basic features, meets the additional essential requirements of the building practice: low LH and very low heat of hydration VLH, resistance to sulphate attack SR and HSR, and a low content of active alkali NA (alkaline corrosion resistant). The application of special cements in the performance of concrete structures avoids the disadvantages of the concrete, and thus contributes to the durability of the concrete structure (long life cycle).
