Abstract
The optimum differentiation in modular hydraulic cylinders design can provide expert systems. Here the requirements (piston travel, internal thrust, and external force acting on the piston) are coordinated with the shape and size criteria of the cylinders. The modules are designed by means of AutoCad and programmed in LISP language on the basis of shape, capacity and other design data. (R.Hardbottle)
