Abstract

The paper provides a description of a measuring system for multi-channel speech signal analysis. The aim of the work was to construct a spatial recording station and prepare a processing software. A developed measurement system consists of multi-channel recording components with a microphone array, a connection to a computer, and a development component which implements Delay-Sum Beamforming technology. Spatial-temporal processing of the signal, i.a., determined the delay between the microphones by calculating the offset for which the cross-correlation function between the signals reaches the maximum. The workstation was tested in order to verify the correctness of the system. The testing procedure included recording at different distances (5 cm and 10 cm) and for two voices (male and female). The results are satisfactory and confirm the proper operation of the system. The best results were achieved for recordings of woman’s voice at a distance of 5 cm from the sound source. This suggests that the measurement system could be employed for the speech test of children whose voice tract is shorter and speech is higher compared to male speech.
