Abstract
The article presents simulations of influences of some cutting parameters of abrasive waterjet machining (AWJM) using the Finite Elements Method. The effect of the working conditions i.e. waterjet pressure, traverse rate, abrasive flow rate on the depth of cut and erosion mechanism are investigated in details. Extensive series of AWJM experiments for wide range of working conditions and comparison with the FEA results are shown. Research for several specimens i.e. composites reinforced by fibers were carried out. Detailed investigations allowed to describe the character of composite erosion mechanism and phenomena delamination which are characteristic for those materials.
