Abstract

The paper deals with modeling of the temporal and spatial distributions of the eddy currents and specific Joule losses in a nonferrous body heated by induction. Presented are two methods based on the differential and integral approaches. Derived and explained are the corresponding mathematical models and discussed are possibilities of their numerical solution. Summarized are also their advantages and drawbacks. The methodologies are illustrated on an example of heating a nonmagnetic cylinder by a ring inductor slowly moving along it. Technical University of Košice
