Abstract

One of the promising carbon capture technologies is the oxy-combustion, based on the elimination of nitrogen from the combustion process and, therefore, obtaining the flue gases consisting mainly CO2 and H2O. This allows to simplify the CO2 separation process, compared to the other carbon capture technologies. The paper present the thermodynamic analysis of the zero-emission combined cycle power plants with oxy-combustion and flue gas recirculation. Due to the high water vapor content in the flue gas, can be applied wet recirculation or with partial drying of recirculated flue gas. Characteristic parameters for both power plants with wet and dry flue gas recirculation are presented and compared.
