Abstract
The paper shows the issue of the input current measurement in single stage and two-stage boost converter with the microcontroller based modulation. During the discontinuous conduction mode the measured value of the input current differs from the real average value of this current. In the paper the origin of such difference is theoretically explained with introduction of correcting coefficient which is based only on the input and the output voltages and actual duty cycle. The theoretical analysis is verified by experimental results.
