Abstract
In the current functioning of universities, ensuring the high quality of education in step with strategic goals is one of the most important tasks for management. An essential role in this matter is played by the Internal Education Quality Assurance System, which has been in operation at universities in Poland since 2008. Communication from Bergen indicates that the system provides for the improvement and evaluation of courses, together with the methods by which they are realized, and the quality and conditions of conducting the didactic process. It also assumes the introduction of rules governing information on study programs and their outcomes. It is not only students and academic teachers who influence the education quality process, but also decisions and actions taken by institutions on various levels, whose powers and competences are defined by organizational units and collective bodies. Effective education quality management at universities requires defining the quantities that will allow them to monitor, measure and analyze, providing the basis for objective decisions that will allow for the provision of a proper level of effectiveness of processes, and thus the basis for improvements to the system. Those quantities are indicators and measures thanks to which one can define the degree in which processes functioning within the quality of education meet requirements. They also indicate areas for improvement, providing rationale for introducing changes based on objective information. A properly developed system of measures is the basis of and source of inspiration in the process of improvement of the Education Quality Assurance System in the framework of its functioning on different levels. The purpose of the chapter is to discuss the concept of a choice of selected and proper indicators that facilitate measurement and monitor the functioning of processes within the education system at universities. Selected processes and indicators that are systematically observed, as well as the people responsible for conducting, collecting and processing and monitoring tools, are described. The abovementioned factors are included in process measurement cards created therein.
