Abstract
The paper presents the issue of assessing the risks associated with transporting hydrogen for long distances. For such transport car containers, rail tankers or pipelines may be used. Uncontrolled release of hydrogen and later fire or explosion may be a result in each of these cases. It is essential to determine the level of risk in the vicinity of the routes of transport vast quantities of hydrogen. In the paper the term of risk in relation to hydrogen transport systems are defined. The analysis major hazardous event scenario, the cause of these events are presented. The effects of fire or explosion of uncontrolled leaking hydrogen are calculated. Follow this, the level of risk in areas around installations of hydrogen are determined.
