Abstract

The theory, developed on the basis of thermodynamics of stressed solids, has been utilized in numerical studies of the stress-induced diffusion. The phenomenon of SID has been investigated for various cases and results have been compared with theoretical and experimental evidences obtained earlier by other authors. Some new aspects of the phenomenon have also been found and discussed.
