Abstract
The paper addresses occupational safety in the context of the design, construction and operation of green roofs. Key design solutions to reduce occupational risks are presented, including belay systems, technical paths and edge protection. The specifics of operational work and the associated risks are also discussed. The need to integrate health and safety principles right from the design stage and the importance of systematic inspection and training of personnel was emphasised.
