Multi-channel systems creating local zones of quiet in enclosures

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Conference contribution › peer-review

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to present results of a research on application of multi-channel active noise control (ANC) systems for creating three-dimensional local zones of quiet in enclosures. In the research the classical ANC system structures: feedforward and an internal model control system are evaluated. The FX-LMS (filtered-x least mean squares) algorithm is used, with an additional neutralization of acoustic feedback for feedforward system. The main subject of interest is the influence of adaptive control algorithm parameterization on ANC system performance, understood as an obtained disturbance attenuation level. The effectiveness of evaluated ANC systems is also illustrated by attenuation maps showing the size of the created zones of quiet.
