Abstract
On the basis of the authors' own investigations and the work of other investigators, the relative deformation of steel and lead was examined and compared. It was found that there is no essential difference between the deformation of the two metals. The validity of some formulas used in calculating the deformation across the width of a rolled product or that of the web of a double-tee bar during rolling with a uniform area reduction was verified.
