Modelling of phase changes in thin metal film subjected to ultrafast laser heating using the two-temperature model

Abstract

Thin metal film subjected to an ultrafast laser heating is considered. The thermal processes which take place in the domain considered are described by two-temperature hyperbolic model supplemented by appropriate boundary and initial conditions. The model presented takes into account the phase changes of material (solid-liquid and liquid-vapour) occurring at the constant temperature. At the stage of numerical computations the finite difference method with staggered grid is used. In the final part the results of computations are shown.
