Abstract

Goal of that paper is to provide new welding technology based on micro-jet cooling just after welding to investigate possibilities of getting varied amount of beneficial structure, for instance acicular ferrite (AF) in weld metal deposit (WMD). A very high percentage of AF in WMD was gettable (55-75%) in terms of main micro-jet cooling parameters. This high amount of AF is unusual to get in WMD in another way or other methods of welding such as basic electrodes, MAG or TIG. This method is very promising and capable of industrial application, mainly due to the significant improvement of weld quality and reduces costs.
