Abstract

Aim of that paper is to present innovate welding technology based on micro-jet cooling just after welding. Weld metal deposit (WMD) was carried out for standard welding and new method with micro-jet cooling. A very high percentage of acicular ferrite (AF) in WMD was achievable (55-75%) for process with micro-jet cooling. This high amount of AF is unusual to be achieved in WMD in another welding methods. This method is very promising and capable of industrial application, mainly due to the significant improvement of weld quality and reduces costs. Impact toughness and strengths were carried out for both processes.
