Abstract

Model MAFEM created in Silesian University of Technology was used to investigate the torsion influence on flexural stiffness of RC bars. Hundreds of elements were analysed for different combinations of geometry and reinforcement. Results given in the form of a stiffness map put over the typical interaction diagrams of bending moment and torsion. Statistical analysis allowed to create mathematical formulas, which made possible to determine flexural stiffness characteristic. Finally a set of procedures to analyse RC frames was developed.
