Abstract
On the basis of hitherto published literature on methods of optimization of the structural parameters of the productive horizon of a mine, some basic assumptions are made regarding the development of such a method of optimization. The concepts adopted are characterized, and the optimization criteria used in the method and a general mathematical model of the method are discussed, as well as the sequence of the optimization analysis carried out. Technical-economic models of an exploited field and of the structure of a mining horizon are described, and computer programs based on the use of these models are presented. In conclusion, the main results of sample calculations carried out to demonstrate the practical suitability of the method are evaluated.
